good job today diane. I just had a question about your argument...you said that technology can empower the body but also that there is violence against the body that is aided by technologies. I guess I felt that it was a contradiction, so just wanted clarity on what you think this means? Are you saying that technology is good or bad?

My question concerns Jason. Why do you think such a technologized body as Jason looks so helpless and weak? Why do you think Jason has two different color eyes? What is the director trying to say with the presentation of Jason's body?

I really liked your project! The clips you showed and your argument made me want to actually see the movie. It seems really interesting. Aisha took my question! But I wanted to know why that character had different colored eyes. Does that have to do with the technology or does it have meaning?

I want to reflect back to the first unit. Do you think that the mutants are the "other" body in this film even though they are the ones with extraordinary powers? Or do you think regular humans are the "other" body? And do you think this reflects back on how we see that violence has been inflicted on bodies of difference?

Diane you did awesome today. I was wondering if you thought that Molly in Neuromancer was comparable to the lady wolverine in your movie. Is the lady wolverine the way she is because of mutations or does it have something to do with body modifications?

My question is about the cerebrum, I believe it is called, but the machine he uses. This is obviously a piece of technology, that used correctly, can be very useful and helpful. Do you think that we need to control the people who try to misuse this technology or should we avoid making this technology altogether because it can be used for the wrong purposes which lead to destruction.

Ashley : I’m saying that technology is bad in this movie. They empower the body from technology, but they use this power in negative ways, such as violence and control of the body. Thanks!

Aisha & Aubrey : Jason is Stryker’s son. But Stryker used technology to make him as a machine. He is not a human/mutant anymore. So I think his different eye color shows that he is a machine, not normal body. Jason is operated by Stryker. So, Jason really doesn’t have power to control other’s body. I think this is why Jason looks so helpless and weak. Thanks!

Megan : I think mutants are the “other” body. Extraordinary power is the main thing that made them different from the normal body. Regardless to mutants and humans, they both use technology to show violence. Ex: Stryker(human) Wolverin(mutant) – they both represent violence. Thanks!

Drew : Lady Wolverin ( Yuriko) is technological mutants. She is made by machine. Stryker made her to use her as a fighter. So I think Yuriko is very different from Molly. Molly has her control of her body and uses her claw to protect herself. However, Yuriko uses her claw to perform order from Stryker. She doesn’t have control of her body. Thanks!

Katie : It’s Cerebro ! :) Yes, this machine can be very useful if it is only operated by Professor X. He uses this machine only in helpful ways. But the thing is when professor X loose his control. So, I think that we need to control the people who try to misuse it rather than destroy this machine. Thanks!

Are there normal humans in this movie besides Stryker also? What kind of role do they play? You said that the mutants are the "other," but what kind of characters set this up in the movie? To me, it seems like most oftentimes the bodies who hold power over others are considered the "normal" bodies, as has been seen in class previously.
Is there a scene or a specific character that can be looked at to come to the conclusion that the mutants are the "other"? I haven't actually seen the movie, so sorry if this is an obvious question!

Emma : Yeah, it's true that mutants in the movie hold the power. But they doesn't use this power to dominate or control the other bodies. In first unit, it considered that normal body has power and dominate the other bodies. So I think it's a little different from the first unit ! And there is only Stryker who is normal body in this movie (for main character) ! Thanks!
